Christian Overeaters Past and Present Blog: Not Setting My Sights High Enough

All those years, I thought if I were just thin, I'd be happy. If I were stylish, I'd be happy. If I had a good job, I'd be happy, but I wasn't setting my sights high enough!

I was always looking toward worldly pleasures and rewards. I learned I needed to refocus my goals, for it is our love and faith in Christ that will give us eternal happiness!

Since I am applying these Bible Verses to my life, it may not convey the whole meaning of the verses. Debbie

I tried lots of diets, because food had become a false god in my life. I turned to food in times of stress, etc. instead of turning to God. One day, I said, "God, I can't do this. If you want me to be thin, You'll have to do this, because I give up!"It started that same day and I was blessed to lose 80+ pounds and keep the majority of it off for over 30 years. I continue to pray before I eat anything asking God to heal my food, body, and eating and willingness to let Him do this.

I felt led to share how Christ redirects me at times when I start focusing on food again, rather than Him.Will you lose weight the same way that I did? The method you use or don't use is totally up to you. I don't endorse any particular program, just turning to Christ. Debbie Seiling
