Since I have used this Bible passage as an example of how the Lord God has positively influenced my overeating, this doesn't necessarily reflect the whole meaning of the verse. Debbie

COVID 19 Is a Double Whammy!

1 Peter 1: 3 Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 4 to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.

I am old enough to remember reading the Li'l Abner comics and remember watching a movie based on this comic strip. Mammy Yokum used to talk about a "Double Whammy!" I think she meant it was an extra powerful spell she put on people, but to me, COVID 19 is a "Double Whammy!"

Many citizens of most countries have lost their jobs, at least, for the time being. That is a major thing for people to deal with. People who were busy doing their regular jobs, not long ago, are now staring at the walls trying to figure out how to make their toilet paper last longer.

On top of that, many citizens, have lost their freedom in light of this pandemic. Not only have they been fearful of catching this bizarre virus, but now, their movements, choices, and actions are restricted. They can't go to the movies, out to dinner, to the bowling alley for the time being. I don't mean it as a complaint, but it's the "Double Whammy!" that comes with COVID 19. That said, it's important that we don't let the frustration because of these things to lead us to overeat, or things much worse than that. We need to keep our sight on Jesus Christ who is there right beside us through thick and thin. If you don't have an active relationship with Christ, there is no special thing you have to do, except to tell Him that you love Him and want Him to forgive you and be with you always!

Since I am applying these Bible Verses to my life, it may not convey the whole meaning of the verses. Debbie
