Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then He went up on a mountainside and sat down. Matthew 15:29 NIV Bible
As I've gotten closer to my goal weight, my feeling about my weight are up and down, which is the only thing that really relates to the Bible verse I selected. That is, unless you consider that this Bible verse has to do with Jesus doing the miracle of feeding the 4,000, which is the second miracle He did by feeding multitudes, both recorded in Matthew 14:13-21 [5,000] and Matthew 15:32-39 [4,000,] and in Mark 6:30-44 [5,000] and Mark 8:1-9 [4,000.]
The reason this ties in with the Lord God's miracles is that my weight loss and His allowing the vast majority of it to stay off for over 40 years, is a miracle unto itself! It didn't happen by something I did. I had tried a bazillion diets and on some I lost a little weight and gained it back shortly afterward. I had gotten to the point that I was giving up on dieting, and I sat down on my bed to pray and notify God of this decision.
In the process of this, I prayed, "Lord, if You ever want me to be thin, You'll have to do it, because I can't!" And you know what? The miracle from the Lord started that very same day, not a day earlier, a day later, or even earlier in the day before I said that prayer. From that very day, the Lord took away my cravings for large amounts of food, carbs, and sweets. He showed me that food had become a false god to me, because I was turning to food for comfort in times of stress, instead of turning these things over to His very capable hands! Once I had prayed that, turning my control over my eating to Him, He had the rest fall into place. He allowed a weight loss of over 80 pounds, and as I said, He has allowed the vast majority of it to stay off all these years! He can do the same for you, if you put your stress, eating, and life in His very capable hands!
